Pepino, a cute little kitten, has an amazing tale to tell about the joys of living!
Despite being clumsy and unable to walk in a straight line, this child possesses a genuinely joyful spirit and doesn’t want anyone to pity him.
When Pepino entered this world, he was unfortunately separated from his mother cat and had to be rushed to the VCA Cromwell Animal Hospital. The medical staff there quickly administered oxygen to help the poor feline breathe. After many hours of diligent care, the tiny ball of fur finally made a full recovery!
Despite his frail condition, a member of the staff kindly offered to take care of the little kitten at their own home. Mousey, as he came to be called due to his resemblance to a small mouse, had a precarious prognosis and his survival was uncertain for weeks.
As Pepino grew older, those who rescued him observed that he experienced difficulty walking and would fall every time he attempted to stand up. The feline was born with hypoplasia, specifically Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), which hinders his motor skills. Despite his lifelong need for assistance due to this serious condition, the kitten remained cheerful and always in good spirits. All he desired was to engage in playtime and receive affection from his guardians.
A Fortunate Encounter Carmelo walked into the hospital and saw a little cat named “Mousey” wrapped in a towel after taking a bath. “I was amazed by how small it was. The cat looked at me with uncertain curiosity,” Carmelo recalled. He immediately fell in love with the tiny feline Pepino and spent the same night surfing the internet to learn about CH-cats. Carmelo was determined to provide Pepino with the best life possible.
Back in January, Pepino found a loving and caring new home. As time passed by, the kitten’s movements became more coordinated each day.
Assisting the little feline, Carmelo assists with its mealtime by being a steady support to ensure it doesn’t slip. Meanwhile, Pepito dines from a specially designed bowl crafted from gentle silicone material that safeguards his teeth.
It’s crucial that Pepino remains unaware of his uniqueness. He observes my other feline companions and mimics their behavior effortlessly. The little guy enjoys frolicking around, purring loudly, and snuggling up on my lap. Whenever I enter the room, Pepino extends his paws towards me with excitement. Overall, he is an incredibly content and cheerful pet.
Pepino adores his “daddy” Carmelo and always desires to be in his company.
It’s been a couple of years since Pepino discovered his fur-ever home. He has grown into a strong and sturdy feline. This gorgeous cat leads a happy life and doesn’t experience any discomfort because he has loads of support from those around him.
Carmelo expressed his delight in looking after a beautiful cat with unique requirements. He was fully prepared to make this pledge and has no regrets about it at all.
